Paulo Motoki

Paulo Motoki, Chief Operating Officer at Point Blank Enterprises, brings over 20 years of industry and consulting experience. Combining operational and financial skills, Mr. Motoki specializes in assisting underperforming companies as either an advisor or executive. Mr. Motoki has experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing of consumer and industrial products in the U.S. and Latin America.

 

Prior to Point Blank, Mr. Motoki worked as an advisor for the Sun Capital Portfolio Companies (Performance Improvement Team – PIT). With PIT, Mr. Motoki led the integration of European companies in the women apparel business, and assisted several companies in various strategic, financial and operational analyses and assessments.

 

For several years, Mr. Motoki worked in the restructuring group at Alvarez & Marsal (A&M). Engagements at A&M included serving as interim CFO of a leading supplier of poultry and swine production equipment; acting as a CFO of a 50‐chain international retailer specializing in fashion accessories; functioning as Senior VP of Manufacturing for a distressed company in the mattress industry; serving as interim Senior VP of Operations of a retail flooring company in Chapter 11; working as operational advisor for a semiconductor manufacturer in Chapter 11; acting as Project Manager for the M&A Integration of a $2B food company. At A&M, he has also worked as advisor for companies in the packaging, publishing, meat and construction industries.

 

Prior to A&M, Mr. Motoki was one of the founders and partners of Paladin. At Paladin, Mr. Motoki worked on behalf of private equity investors providing operational and financial due diligence. He also worked as a consultant for an operational turnaround of a $1 billion paper company. Mr. Motoki also performed equity research analyses in the aerospace, chemical and transportation industries.

 

Mr. Motoki’s manufacturing background also includes implementing six‐sigma and lean manufacturing practices in the auto, plastic and apparel industries. Mr. Motoki has worked for General Motors leading the supply chain implementation of the first Allison Transmission automatic plant outside of the U.S.

 

Mr. Motoki received an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and an Automation & Systems (Robotic) Engineering Bachelor’s degree from Universidade de Sao Paulo. Mr. Motoki speaks Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
